I'm a Russian who grew up in Malaysia and made my debut as a journalist in the United States.

My reporting — multimedia, multifaceted, and multicultural — reflects these truths. Our world is full of stories that, much like my upbringing, are too odd to conjure in imagination, and that’s why I dedicated my life to capturing our strange reality.

I love thinking about how we communicate with each other, how we interact with media, and what role language and culture play in this equation.

I'm looking to return to Southeast Asia, the region I call home, and serve its communities in languages other than English.
